Dr. CJ Rhodes's Bio:

With 20 years of leadership and ministry experience, Dr. CJ Rhodes is a much sought after thought leader and communicator. He was called to the ministry at the age of 18, a month after graduating with honors from Hazlehurst High School. CJ received his BA in Philosophy from The University of Mississippi, where he served in the student government and was a leading student voice for racial justice and reconciliation. In 2009, CJ received his MDiv from Duke University’s Divinity School and he earned his DMin from Wesley Biblical Seminary in 2018. Before getting his doctorate, CJ gained continuing education in the Mississippi Black Leadership Institute as well as Princeton Seminary’s inaugural Black Theology and Leadership Institute.

Dr. Rhodes is the Pastor of Mt Helm Baptist Church, becoming the youngest pastor to serve Jackson’s oldest black congregation. He is also the Director of Religious and Spiritual Life at Alcorn State University and is the host of the CJ Rhodes Show airing on WRBJ 97.7 FM.

CJ is the Founder and President of Clergy for Prison Reform, Public Theologian in Residence for The AND Campaign, and the author of two books.

Above all, CJ is the blessed husband of Allison and together they are committed parents of twin sons.
